Ka tangi te tītī Ka tangi te kākā Ka tangi hoki ahau Tihei Mauri Ora!
Art is my voice
Interests I live on the Kāpiti Coast on a lifestyle property up in Nikau Valley with my husband and children who all attend local schools (well the kids do, hubby has moved on from school). I enjoy pottering in the garden, harvesting the edibles and talking to the chickens who always listen, but also always talk back! In a previous life I was a triathlete, a scuba diver and did much less laundry than I do now. My husband still runs, jumps and leaps about to which I say good on him, my new sport is flexing my creative muscle. I love meeting new people and have a bit of a talent for listening so often learn lots of new things along the way. Languages are one of my favourite 'obsessions'. Heoi anō, ka mea rā ka kōrero Māori mai.
Goals/Aspirations Well, less laundry and less paint on the walls and the floor aren't really aspirational goals (although they do qualify as stretch goals) so instead I am working towards learning new techniques, mastering those new techniques and having fun doing it.
I also would like to find my finished works new homes along the way so my husband doesn't get the misimpression I am an art hoarder. I already hoard 'things' that can be repurposed and I think a new 'collection' might be a push too far.
Gratitude I thank my husband, my children, my long suffering parents who have loved me always although never once held out hope I would change my ways, thank you. You are all my fuel and my fire for every day and every way I am or will ever be.
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini. My strength is not mine alone, it comes from the collective.
